Medical Management of Cavities

Our practice is founded on patient experience, education, cavity prevention, and minimally invasive treatment. We achieve this via the latest techniques with brush-on medicines and vitamins. The medical management of caries is cavity treatment with medicine. Brush-on medicines and vitamins are used to stop cavities and prevent new ones from forming. Treatment is quick and painless, and no shots are needed. Sometimes gentle hand burs or dental handpieces are used for a brief period of time to open cavities we can’t access, and/or clean the outline of the cavity. Visits are easy, and your child keeps more of their natural tooth structure!

Some of the medicines and vitamins we use are: Silver Diamine Fluoride, Glass Ionomer, Povidone Iodine, P11-4, and Fluoride Varnish.
